VIRTUAL: International Children’s Friendship Festival

Are you ready for the most culturally enriching festival of the year? The Turkish American Cultural Association of Washington (TACAWA) is excited and proud to bring the Twelfth Annual and the first virtual International Children’s Friendship Festival (ICFF) to the Emerald City on Saturday, April 17th and Sunday, April 18th for the 12th year – FREE and worldwide!  Partnering with Seattle Center and Ethnic Heritage Council, the ICFF is an opportunity to witness our children honor their cultures through performance and education, as well as pledge their commitment to international peace and friendship.  

This year, Seattleites will have the opportunity to witness children groups representing virtually via YouTube and Facebook over 34 countries perform unique dances, musical and many other cultural performances over two days.  This year’s virtual festival will also feature interactive activities during two-hour streaming videos and after the festival; providing an opportunity for children to connect with and learn about other cultures.   

This year in partnership with Ayse Deniz Gokcin an international music project will place a role in the festival, while singing and playing Beethoven’s famous “Ode to Joy”; kids from all over the world will share their best wishes for the future of the World. The School of Architecture for Kids- “Arckidect” – will be a part of the festival, offering a workshop for kids to teach about the styles and history of architecture from countries around the world and during the workshop kids will be designing their own historical building together. 

ICFF will also host a Visual Art Showcase that will exhibit children's artwork about friendship during the virtual festival and on the festival website. 

ICFF is rapidly gaining popularity in international communities as more countries and regions join the festival each year.  On ICFF’s 12th anniversary, Afghanistan, Austria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Finland, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Macedonia, Mexico, Mongolia, Myanmar, Palestine, Poland, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam are expected to participate.
