Baby Animals at Local Zoos You Must See Now

These cute 8-week-old otter pups, born to mom Valkyrie and dad Ziggy at Woodland Park Zoo, are learning to swim. Adorbs! Interestingly, swimming does not come naturally to baby otters, and the mom must teach them. In their special baby otter pool, the mom "teaches" the four pups by grabbing them by the scruff of the neck and dunking them in the water. (Sounds like tough-love swimming lessons, eh?)

The otter pups now have access to the outdoor pool that's on view to zoo visitors in the Northern Trail area, but they are not on a set schedule. Stop by often to catch a glimpse of them practicing their swimming skills!
